In the East of the great Aquitaine region, close to the valley of Dordogne, Sarlat, capital city of Périgord Noir, is located in the heart of a forest area.

The name of Sarlat is tied to gastronomic and cultural pleasures. Its worldwide reputation is linked to its rich history since the middle ages. Its evolution throughout the centuries left it with an exceptional patrimony. Sarlat is the first saved area in France that has been restored following the Malraux law of 1964. Its classification as City of Art and History, are proof of its great architectural quality. Sarlat is also well known for its density of historial and classed monuments. Its middle ages street and big sunbathed places, particularly alive and animated in the market days, gifts people with a nice way of life. Since 1928, cineasts found in this place authentic sets to film historial movies.

The visits of the city offered by the office of tourism allow to enter the history of Sarlat and discover the charms of this medieval city and its occitan accents. The city of Sarlat has been rewarded with the exceptional three stars of the Michelin Guide, equalled by the most beautiful cities
