Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is a town located in the heart of Périgord Noir, in the department of Dordogne (Aquitaine region).
The village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is part of the canton of Domme and the district of Sarlat-la-Canéda.
Above the junction of Dordogne and Céou, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is characterized by its terrasse building, which we climb through small steep paths.
The village is rich of an exceptional patrimony. Its typical housings, pigeon lofts, viewpoints, its walking and hiking paths not to mention its cliffs and rivers, make it the place to be for outside activities and sceneries.
Agriculture, handcrafts, shops, diversity of the associative presence and activities make the name and life of this active and prosperous little town.

The village of Castelnaud comes down from a limestone plateau located 220m above see level, to the valley, around 70m high.
The riches of the town of Castlenaud-la-Chapelle rest on the value of testimonies, numerous historical monuments and site, from which it can pride itself.
The procedure of Areas of Protection of the Architectural, Urban and Landscaping patrimony finally allowed the municipality to take care with the help of the government,  of the protection of its patrimony.
